ITINERARY FOR YOUR SURGERY
Arrangement have been made for you to have surgery at Markham Stouffville Hospital.
AFTER A SURGERY IS BOOKED

You will receive an appointment for your pre-op assessment. You will be assessed by a skilled registered nurse in the Surgical Assessment Clinic (SAC) prior to your surgery to ensure your safety during surgery. At your surgical assessment clinic appointment, you will complete all paperwork and any required diagnostic tests. You will receive a consult with an anesthesiologist and/or medical physician if required for your surgery.
7-10 DAYS BEFORE SURGERY

Stop taking blood thinners as instructed during your pre-op assessment.
DAY BEFORE SURGERY

DO NOT EAT OR DRINK after the midnight before your surgery.
DAY OF SURGERY

Bring your valid Provincial Health Card

Arrive at the hospital 90 mins before your scheduled time

Register at the Patient Registration Counter
